Cannondale Capo Review
The Cannondale Capo Frame is made from Alu, looks good, has tidy welds and is quite light in weight. Cannondale made a lovely looking and very light track frame in the early 90's called the "Track" and because of the growing fixie scene Cannondale saw an opportunity to extend their bike range to include a single speed / fixed gear bike and took some inspiration from the "Track" and produced the Capo. The Capo isn't really a full on track bike, but is more of an urban street bike. Mine has the unfinished / unpainted Alu look with a few discreate black logos. The frame is the 2010 model, but apart from the paint job or lack of it I think it is the same as the previous models from 2007 onwards. Over 2.5 years & 12,500km ridden on this frame (mainly on the road & bikepaths, but also the occasion gravel track), apart from 5 or six small dents on the top tube, (because it's made of thin walled tubing) and a few scratches it still looks good. I haven't noticed any defects that would effect the lifespan and hope to get a many more years out of it. The ride is stiff and responsive, but I like it that way. The bike came complete with some stock Cannondale parts & cost me new €700. So far that works out at €0.056 cents per km. Lets see how low I can get it. Most of my riding is in the city and I use the bike every day as my main transport. Some of the components have been changed & I will review these too. Review to continue
